A client of mine left her unibody MacBook Pro on the roof of her car (Mercedes coupe) before driving off at speed and then remembering the MacBook.

I picked the mac up fearing the worst but I was amazed. The pespex screen guard has shattered but the screen itself is fine. The ld has a couple of cosmetic dents but the unibody took it all in it's stride. Everything still works! Amazing! Can't see the previous model of MBP withstanding such a fall onto a hard road surface.

Very impressive.

Indeed, that's impressive.

Good for the client. Maybe she'll learn something from this incident

My 7 year old 12inch Powerbook (by which this post is being typed) has been sent flying on to the marble tile many times and so far has worked great. It’s just dented in a few spots.

She had a perspex screen guard on her MacBook?

To protect the glass, I assume?
