Stumbled upon it again. The famous Canadian Native Indian spoof radio show. Did anyone ever find out the identity of what I read to be the two guys behind this? I think they were DJs at the local radio station around Lethbridge, Alberta in the 80s.

From Wikipedia:

"It started as a fake radio show on a cassette. Then it developed a cult following. Brocket 99 is something of a cultural phenomenon in western Canada. It purports to be a radio program on an Indian reserve. Some people find it hilarious and racey. Others say it's outright racist."

I remember playing in hockey tournaments as a kid in smaller communities like that, and getting chased by Natives with knives. Ha.

Cultural Disconnect.

It's all about pointing out the uncomfortable. Life on a reservation, even today, is about as shit as it gets.

Ok, I said I could use a good laugh. That was not it.
But I'm sure there's some local comedy that I like that most won't get either.
