I won't ask how many people have already bought an OSX app in the Apple App Store, because I know that the answer is going to be "all of us".
For Bodega customers and developers, do you see an advantage in staying loyal to that store. I imagine that the profit cut is not as steep as Apple's.
Bodega App developers: is Bodega even allowed in the App Store?
Finally: are GPL applications compatible with Bodega? They sure are not compatible with Apple's.
Does Bodega have the nice features of the App store? Update notification, 1 click upgrading?
If none of the stores are GPL compatible: should the OSS community port "Software Center", "Update Manager" and Launchpad repos to OSX?

If the open source people were really about freedom and openness, they'd ditch the GPL and go with the BSD license.

GPL=starts free and stays free
BSD=starts free and a monopolizing merchant who didn't code a single line profits from it

If it was truly free, I'd be able to download VLC form the app store right now. "Free if you follow our restrictive rules" is not free.

I couldn't care less if "monopolizing merchant" profits from it without putting any effort in it. It's still free from the original source and I can still do whatever I wish with it.

How long has Bodega existed? I'd never heard of it before but it seems like a really nice app, to be honest it's a lot nicer than the Mac App Store, and while neither follow standard UI conventions, the little awning is cute, while the screwed up stoplights in the app store are just a piss off.
