I don't hate Macs, but they do give me a syncing feeling | Charlie Brooker | Comment is free | The Guardian

Just saw this pop up on the interwebz, so I thought I'd post it here. Charlie Brooker used to hate Macs, then he bought one.

Seems to me that Charlie Brooker is an attention whore who writes controversial headlines for page hits.

Well, he does seem to hone right in on the exact thing most Windows geeks complain about over and over again about iTunes.

I'm not sure how valid it is, but it's a complaint. That said... for every freedom iTunes takes away from the end user, it grants about 10 great conveniences... but those always get glossed right over in all the bitching.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Yeah, the main complaint I get from Windows people is how crap iTunes is. But then the complainers are almost always louder than the happy users. Happy users get on with what they're doing, people who can't get to do what they want shout about it IMO.

As for Charlie Brooker, I like him, yes he can be shouty, but he's a film/TV/games geek and talks a lot of sense about most things when he is passionate about the subject, in a shouty sort of way .

I just dislike that he has, at some point, decided to become the Jeremy Clarkson of his generation. I don't find much about him that's original.

What's your problem with Jeremy Clarkson?

The fact that Apple made a version of Safari for Windows with native look-n-feel, but did not do the same for iTunes, tells me something about Apple. I don't know what that something is, however.

Phileas isn't saying he hates Jeremy Clarkson, he's annoyed that Brooker has decided to act like Jeremy Clarkson, which is unoriginal.
