** preface :: this is a mild rant **

I have been a .mac user for a very long time, over the years on occasion Ill get an email from someone saying,

"sorry for the delayed response your email was put into spam"

I never took the time to deal with it because there is nothing I could do personally from my end, and secondly .mac support at the time was only email, so the thought of me saying, yeah emails are getting spammed, and to get a response of oh well everything looks fine from our side was enough to make me refrain from any attempts at troubleshooting.

Today I got one back from a client that tipped the iceberg. I called apple and WHAT DO YOU KNOW,

"well sir it seems everything checks out from our end, and just a note if an email is getting spammed, it is due to their incoming mail server, and how they handle emails requests." he then had the nerve to say, what is interesting about your issues is i have NEVER heard this before from anyone....

so im done ranting and i end on this note, anyone else have .mac and getting spammed?

macpro 2.66 | 4GB | 7 TB
macbook pro 2.4i5 | 4GB | 500GB 7200rpm

He was right, but it is their responsibility to do business with other SMTP servers in such a way to minimize their servers being black/blocklisted.

As the others have said, the problem lies with the receiving server and how their filters are managed. Definitely send via gmail or your regular ISP's email service.

I had that problem years ago, but I (and the recipient) emailed the sys admin at the destination and they fixed it.

I've seen it happen with gmail too - it's not just .mac
