These guys are using air-to-ground rocket pods mounted on pick-up trucks! It doesn't seem safe, but they live in a different daily world than I do. ;-)

Libyan Road Warrior, Redux.
"Here is a separate link to the At War post about the expanding use by Libyan rebels of air-to-ground rocket pods mounted on pick-up trucks. The photograph, above, is of one of the first systems to show up at the front. There are now many, many more. More photographs offer another level of detail, if you look closely. This next image shows the fuses at the end of the 57-millimeter rockets, ready to fire in a partially loaded pod. You can see the mount to the pickup. It’s a welded base, which in turn has been bolted to the pickup’s chromed roll bar. Look as well at the wires at the image’s bottom left corner."

Hey, whatever works. Generally being in a war zone isn't safe to begin with.

I wonder exactly how does that work? Rocket artillery? Surface-to-air? I'm a little out of the loop, is Libya even still fielding air power?

They won't need to vacuum that truck bed for awhile.

I'm thinking that tripod thingy behind the truck in the misfire pic answers my question.

I was gonna say.

"Rocket launchers" and "safe" are pretty much mutually exclusive.

+1, very deadly for the recipient, only slightly less so for the sender.
