This is a picture of my gas grill. It has two control knobs, one for the left burner and one for the right. Both are turned up all the way. As you can see, the one on the right is a nice blue flame, the one on the left is a bright flashy yellow flame. This has been the case with this grill for a while. What is causing the flames to be so different on each of the burners??

If you pull the guards out and inspect the burners, is the left side in good shape or has part of it rusted through?

Well, as soon as he touches that spreader it's going to crumble to dust. Looks like it's time to buy one of those and a new burner.

The spreaders are pretty rough but the burners didn't seem so bad. And it's pretty uniform that the entire burner puts out blue flame, or yellow flame. Makes me think something else might be causing it.

It's the oxygen to gas ratio. I vaguely remember from my grill manual that there is a way to adjust it, but I can't remember exactly how. I'll see if I can find my manual..

There may be vents at the knobs that allow air to mix with the propane. If it's low on oxygen you'll get a more yellow flame.

I have this exact grill. Somewhat of a disappointment in that the electric ignition stopped working within the first few months. The little handle that houses the batteries for the "grill light" is made out of a soft plastic with hinges that broke early and I've got the thing zip-tied shut because the bulbs never worked consistently anyway. [/rant]
I agree with the other post that mentioned oxygen:fuel ratio. Let me guess; you're doing most of your cooking over the left side of the grill. You're not foolin' me with having inspected the burners underneath that flame-diffuser because that diffuser's a right-mess and would've dumped carbon all over your hands when pulling it up and out.
Pull the diffuser up and out, wire-brush it off rust and all, and then use the wire brush and run it along the holes on the left burner-side front and back to ensure no holes are obstructed by carbon and debris. (I usually set the shop-vac up to blow and blow out the entire bin, clear the holes of debris then set to draw for sucking out the whole bin) That's the simple fix. If that doesn't do the trick you might have to shut off the tank, pull it, and verify the integrity of the line and coupler feeding the burner from underneath. Or... buy a new burner-assembly for it. Otherwise, (what I might do this year) get a new grill.
'Tis the season! Cook it up!

Running too rich... clear out the hole where the air is supposed to come in.

You need to turn off the cloaking device and repolarize the dilithium crystals.

Those break by design. The action that creates the spark also causes it to rust. You can't make them without them breaking. I have a flexible lighter that I use to light mine.
