What do you suppose is the weekly viewership, now?

I don't know about livestreams but I think he said 450,000 downloads the other week.

Noted TWiT Historian subego will need to weight in.

I should know that, and they're pretty free with the stats, but that sort of thing goes in one ear and out the other.

Leo bought a big house, if that tells you anything.

Bilton really went out of his way to keep Wil in the show. Not a bad thing, but slightly weird.

He was a total weirdo. I chalked it up to being a "real" journalist.

He's been on before I don't remember him being kind of weird. I do think he might have tried to backseat host then too, though

Last two times were with Barantunde, and he has a more "normal" dynamic with him.

I enjoyed it as well. However I feel every show sans Dvorak tends to be more watchable/listenable. Bleeps aside.

I was wondering why they invited Wil in the first place. I think Bilton realized how little Wil was asked to contribute, and tried to be the nice guy and send some attention his way. I usually like what Wil has to say, so I appreciated the effort.

Also, I love how the first third of the show seemed to be a concentrated effort to make the Obamacare rollout sound a lot smoother than it was. The scale and complexity they were pointing out was true, but it still felt like cheerleading.

And holy crap, the tone/volume of the beeps was annoying. I was listening on my headphones, and each beep felt like a little knife wound to the eardrums.

It's a podcast. I'm disturbed they can't come up with a more creative sound (like a 56k modem) than something out of 1980s Network TV. Awful.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's because it's needed so rarely.

Bleeps are funny, too, though I didn't get any because I saw the live feed.

Can they release a podcast that isn't G-rated?

They have one show, NSFW, which tries to push the clean envelope without breaking it, but otherwise, Leo wants parents not to worry about feeding themselves TWiT.

The NSFW crew are the ones who created Andrew Dice Clay is... Asshole Pope.

The show is nowhere near G-rated, but if you push too far over the line, it will start to affect viewership. He might only stand to lose 1,000 listeners, but he's not going to gain that many in return.

The only show I'd say is truly G-Rated is the radio show. He won't even say things like "crapware".

Very similar to a discussion I had with a SW developer yesterday, and fits with a comment Leo made a couple weeks back about the execs at those companies:

He apologized twice in the pre-show (which is what I was reporting on), once on the show, and then again post-show where he mentioned it's likely they lost listeners because of it.

One of the competitions on their new game show is pretty brilliant. Someone pretending to be your grandmother is on the phone. You have three minutes to blind tech support some consumer electronics problem she's having.

If you pause, "Gam Gam" starts to distract you with questions like "have you eaten today?"

The particular problem was she had put the DVD in upside-down, which was great because you got to see everyone be crestfallen it wasn't as simple as she didn't plug something in.

Another gem was when the contestant would ask what the cable is plugged into on the TV or DVD player, Gam Gam would go "it says... hidme".

Leo's really been bagging on Katie Couric. It'll be interesting to see if Dvorak can top his level of negativity.

What the hell is with the Leo - Curry beef? He had him on a year or two ago just to squash the belief, I though they got along well, the show was seen as really good and Curry a great guest and now we're at "Blow me"?

Curry doesn't buy the moon landing, to which Leo opined "you know what, screw you. These guys risked their lives".

Curry wasn't on at the time. It was during the anniversary of the landing.

That's my best guess.

If anything, Curry is touchy, which is a bad mix for the notoriously uncensored Leo. Still, 'blow me' is an interesting choice given he could ignore him.

Well, I hear he does the No Agenda show at noagendashow.com.

He'll probably be on soon. "Blow me" is how you tell Chad you want to be on the show.

I was hoping for more juicy dirt.

Here's the spoiler rundown:

Sessler wasn't a gamer when he started.
His day job was as a credit analyst.
Banjo-Kazooie was the first game which really blew his mind. It was the 3D.
The Twitter fight with Leo was not mentioned.
Blair was only mentioned once as "that guy".
Him and Morgan are still pals.
He demanded long-term members of the staff got to go to LA or he was going to walk.
He'd get good seats in schmantzy LA restaurants because Chefs are gamers.
He got fired immediately after his last show. He realized it was going to happen about 10 minutes before it happened. The tip off was a combo of getting an email during the show the bigwigs wanted to talk afterwards, along with the exec. producer having avoided him all day.

Enjoying TWiT this week. I agree with Dvorak on Bitcoin, I'm thinking the target is $8-10k too. I bought in between $30-100, it'll be interesting to see where it goes.

That's because it's traded like a security, not currency. You have to be able to use it to buy regular things for it to be a real currency, not just pot, hookers, t-shirts, and cupcakes*.

I hope so, if it's going to survive. It would need to be properly fractionalized, it can be broken down to 8 decimal points (and maybe even 64, according to some experts), whereas most other currencies split down to 2.
