It's OS Ten and most anyone who says otherwise sounds ignorant. It's the continuation of the previous numbering scheme but with use of a roman numeral to emphasize that it's very different from the classic Mac OS that came before it: Mac OS 9, followed by Mac OS "X" as in Ten. But I do recall that SJ had in the past pronounced it the other way, are there is a certain appeal to pronouncing Oh Es X (or Oh Sex if you're moving fast).

What it represents is plainly obvious. How it reads is quite different.

Ex for me. I know it's meaning is ten but roman numerals don't intuitively stick for me and Ex just rolls off the tongue better.
