I don't get your point.
VW probably creates a lot of the marketing materials centrally, for all countries.
Why would they have different ad campaigns and pictures for every single country ?

Of course they do, just check the plate numbers
But still.. other brands don't suffer such failures on 'home' brochures

The image displacement is probably to account for the fold in the printed brochures.

But they can do a proper PDF for screen and other for printing as others do.

Tetenal is right. They just put the PDF for print online. That would qualify for fail.

Its ok at the moment, they are using the Photoshop 6 beta.
