One of the few polls I've started where I don't carry a definitive "right" answer (although I suspect this will be near unanimous). On my way in to work after lunch I noticed how many of the cars in the company parking lot had something hanging from their rearview mirror. From air fresheners, to tassels, to crosses, to a mini disco ball. I had my HS tassel hanging from my first car's rear view for a few years until I realized that I was instinctively lifting up my hand to prevent it from swinging into my view on right turns. I also had big fuzzy dice that hung proudly like testicles.

I used to have graduation tassels, air fresheners, dream catchers, pins, lanyards, a whole ton of rattley things that would swing when rounding corners. Nowadays I have reduced to just one string of beads and a pin. I got a new car see and started over.

I need to hang a parking pass from mine.
This one time, at Boot Camp, I stuck a flute up my PC.

Finally, a poll that has an answer I can unambiguously support! NO!!!!

I get distracted by all the crapola hanging from other people's mirrors while driving behind them. Crystals, especially, but just about anything that moves catches the eye (it's automatic) and is thus a distraction for the driver. And nowadays drivers don't need any more distractions of any kind.

I NEVER drive around with a parking pass on my mirror. I hang it when I need it, and put it away when I don't. They last a lot longer for me that way, since here in Texas the sun tends to destroy anything that is exposed to the sun a few inches behind a nice chunk of glass.

I get OCD over things like that. Hell no.

Seeing dreamcatchers hanging from mirrors are the best, though.

Also, you have too many cars. Heh.

I only have the one car.

Yep. I have a full rosary hanging from mine.

You can order a special single decade "Auto Rosary" if you prefer as well.

Why do people like to advertise their religion with stuff like this, necklaces, etc. but never t-shirts? How about a cross on a t-shirt?

For the purposes of this thread, something that has a legitimate use like that would be an exception.

A cross etc on a rearview is less of a "HEY LOOK I'M CHRISTIAN EVERYBODEEE" and more of a "Please Jesus/Mary/St Christopher, keep me safe from all the crazy bad drivers out there." A patchouli air freshener also helps enhance the plea. Mardigras beads have no effect, except to distract passersby from seeing the mess in your car. Fuzzy dice imply that you'll take your chances on your own.

That lime green clashes with the sacred heart. A nice mauve or tan would be better.

I voted "nope" and realized I do have something. Derp.

It's not obnoxious, it's a bracelet of beads I bought at a Grateful Dead concert many years ago. It doesn't even hang more than an inch or two past the bottom of the mirror.

I thought it was so tired action heroes could stare at the cross, remember when they believed in something besides Jack Daniels, and get the motivation to go kill those bad guys once and for all.

Sorry, well over my head. I'm old and living in a foreign land.

No air fresheners either. Except in the smelly kids seating area.

I used to have random jazz hanging on my first couple of vehicles. Anything in my line of sight is unacceptable at this point in my driving career.

Frankly, with the way people around here drive, I'm surprised St. Christopher has any time to do anything but watch drivers. Particularly drivers here.

I have a parking pass hanging in my car. I'm not a fan of clutter and really dislike the stethoscopes that I see hanging from some mirrors.

I tried. My T-shirt is too big to hang from my rear view mirror. Maybe if I try my underwear...
