Not really, I can't say I commonly have sex in those positions. Nor do I paste a money shot on my wife's back, stomach, or face.

The realm of amateur porn is more extensive than you describe here.

Sure, but that's the general gist still, even in gonzo "productions". You have to expose the genitalia for the cameras, and people want to see the "pop" or the "pie", so that still makes it distinctly different than romantic sex.

Apparently we all have different ideas on what porn is.

Yeah, umm... what I said.

Some people put up a stationary camera and have sex, in all of its not posed for the camera, no closeups glory.

Without getting extremely graphic I'll jut say my ex was into the "pop", not in the face but everywhere else. We might not have been doing it with a camera angle in mind but years of good passionate sex included plenty of it. This wasn't something I cooked up as a power fantasy from porn, she was the one who originally brought it up.

Sounds like something very few porn consumers would be interested in.

Voyeur-style porn is incredibly popular.

I seem to remember you talking about how you never serviced yourself with porn, what makes you the expert all of a sudden?

You are correct however, I've not "used" porn in a long time, but if you do then more power to you. Though I've found there are benefits to not wanking; better control, more stamina, greater anticipation, and more excitement during sex. YMMV, of course.

You aren't really getting irritated over the composition of modern pornography, are you?

Getting irritated? No. I'm just not so sure what's most available as porn is in fact what's most desired by consumers.

I've never heard one person talk about how they get turned on by obviously fake boobs, yet they're pretty significantly represented.

Christ, fake boobs are gross. The few I've had to play with in real life were like overinflated soccer balls, can't imagine why a women would do that to herself.

I've never understood why so many of US porn stars look so fake (Boob, lips, make-up, hair). I guess that's what those most likely to pay for content are interested in.

There's a disconnect between what men want and what women think men want. Seen it my whole life.

No, sorry. These women don't walk into the industry looking like this. It happens over time and the people hiring them aren't objecting.

sorry to jump in like this, but the answer has to be 50/50. I've known women who wanted to get into porn - the lead up was a boob job and lip enlargement. It's about getting attention, perhaps, per subego's comment.

Or, to armchair psychologist it, it's about looking for validation. But I still say there are men that like that look – and I think they're the ones who actually buy porn.

You make it sound like these women do it in spite of what men actually want. That their idea of what makes them beautiful is misguided. I'm saying they're correctly playing to their audience.

I concur, though I've never met an armchair that was a real psychologist.

@Dakar

I return to this question then: exactly who is this audience liking the fake ones?

Well, that's part of the problem right there. Only a freak would buy porn these days.

I'm saying I don't trust the business acumen (and therefore an understanding of the market) of someone plodding along in a dying business. If they actually knew what consumers wanted they'd be doing something other than general-purpose porn, like catering to a fetish.

General purpose: When I'm looking to rub one out, but I don't want a lot of dressing up of the action; Give me some dick, in some vagina and we're good.

That's about the size of it (or of them, as the case may be). The women are told, "you'll make more money if you get big fake boobs, a labiaectomy, and bleach your a**hole". It's essentially standard in the mainstream, where most of the cash is made.

Most men who like regular-looking, wholesome women, wouldn't pay for porn. At least not directly. Smart folks don't pay for things that they can get for free.

I'm into obese asian midgets farting on foodstuffs. Preferably submissive ones, but I'm not picky.

Of the seven female porn stars I can name off the top of my head, six don't have fake ones, or if they do, they're not obvious.

Christy Canyon
Seka
Traci Lords
Ginger Lynn
Vanessa del Rio
Sasha Grey

Savannah had obvious ones.

I see potential here for an argument the top tier doesn't have the plastic dominant in the rest of the industry.

Add some data points. The rules are they're top tier if I've heard of them.

Also:

Gloria Leonard
Hypatia Lee

Lee may be below the bar, but I think all the others are reasonably considered top tier.

Note too, I'm not limiting myself to top tier. I'm just naming the porn stars who's names I know.
