I am the only user set up on my Cube running 10.1.5. That makes me the admin, right? So why can't I change the name of my startup disk in the Info window under Name & Priviliges?

I don't believe this is possible in OS X

You'll have to boot into OS 9 and change it if you really want to. Although there might be a CLI haxie I'm not aware of.

Turn off file sharing and Appletalk.

Then you should be able to change the name right on the desktop.

No, being the only user on the system doesn't make you the admin, but that's not what's preventing you from changing your disk name.

Do you have any kind of file sharing on? Either FTP or File Sharing (check Preferences -> Sharing).

You can't change the name of your drive if you're sharing it. Turn off sharing, change the drive name, then turn it back on.
