Does anyone know how to get Mail.app to tunnel pop3 requests through a proxy server? So far Entourage is the only program I have found that can do this and it is real inconvenient to run one email and work and another at home.

I tried researching this a few months back, and was not able to find any way to do it. I submitted feedback to apple on this missing feature, but how much ya wanna bet it is not in 10.2.3?

As for the question how to do it in Entourage, there is a setting in the preferences, very straightforward. Go to Entourage> Mail & News Preferences> Proxies...

I think this depends on what your setup is. I don't know what tunnel is, but I assume your proxy utilizes Socks, so probably select that. I *think* that Socks is a sort of all purpose protocol... (?)

When I ran Entourage through a Socks proxy, there was no need to do anything with Secure, but I don't know if that's always true. "Settings" is needed only, I believe, if your Socks proxy requires a login/pass...

Sorry I can't be more help. I just mucked around and it ended up working.

good luck

Any idea what I would put in the "Address" box?
