How do I enter a negativ exponent in calculator ??
All I want to do is calculate 1E(-1)* 1E(-8)
When I try to enter a negativ exponent the minus sign is referring to the base.

It works for me...try 0.1 / 1E(8). Or, you can do:
1E(1)
1/x
/
1E(8)
=
remember: *1E(-n) == /1E(n)
also works:
1E(1)
1/x
*
1E(8)
1/x
=

Apple's calculator ain't the greatest.
See here.
I suppose you could type 0.1 x 0.00000001 or whatever number of decimal places you need to type.

I know mathematics, but this is just a hell of a sh* calculator application that does not accept negativ exponents.
So I have to keep PCalc.

I'm not saying that it's not a crappy calculator. I'm not saying you don't know math. I'm just saying there is an equivelant way to get the answer...use 1/x in conjunction. But you are getting what you paid for with the app.

Pcalc gives me some of the same errors that OS X's calculator does, but these errors don't exist with the Windows calculator. See my previous post.

That's interesting… Maybe Apple should incorporate a "rounding-up" algorithm or license HP's or CASIO's technology.

fink install octave
:-) Octave is a nice MATLAB clone, which lets you do nearly anything. It's a bit an overkill for a calculator-replacement, and it runs in the Terminal!
