After making a .tar with my home directory, some of my files got messed up. My fonts are the main ones, but also imovie render files got messed up.

Does this have something to do with that thing called the modem? Do I have to replace the modem?

Really, though, I guess its a resource fork thing. Can I restore these fonts at all? I'd hate to lose them all. I didn't have tons, but the ones I had, I really liked. Thanks for any help.

If you TARed them and they had resource forks, they are irrecoverable. TARs do not preserve resource forks; they are stripped of the file when archived.

Sorry.

Next time use Stuffit or a disk image when you are unsure about the forks.
The server made a boo boo. (403)
