who would have thought a simple terminal command could destroy the system! you know I did some trial and error, and if you delete the folder "System", it screws the OS too! I was so crushed threw my mac in the trash right away.

Gee what a surprise the OS doesn't work without the system font. As a comparison I tried the corresponding thing with Window 98. What do you know at boot it just stops and says:
Error loading gdi.exe
You must reinstall Windows

All because I moved some fonts... great system

I ran my mac over with my car the other day, and it stopped working! I'm outraged! Steve Jobs will hear from my lawyer!

There's a way to do that without the terminal too in 10.2.3! It's a function in DiskUtility called Zero All Data. My system wouldn't even TRY to boot once I did that! I didn't even have to find a trashcan for my Mac.... I just started using it AS a trashcan.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

You can't screw up WindowsXP by doing that.

Actually, OS 9 would still work if you did this, it contained various essential fonts in bitmap form inside the System file. But of course deleting the System file would still screw up your system. Today's lesson? Don't screw with /System unless you know what you're doing.

No matter how hard they work to make things idiot-proof, someone's hard at work somewhere else making a better idiot.

I'm sure there's at least one simple way to waste ANY OS install.

Just delete a couple of .dll files. Hmmm, I wonder what that will do?
