There's been Champagne and confetti here all day too. That was about the most serious bug that affected me. See ya.

I'm not - if they did fix that for good, I just might break out a bottle! Damn, that has annoyed me since the public beta!

I just tried it - I am so happy!!!

Try opening Terminal and deleting the .DS_Store file in the offending folder. Then set the options again.

I was not sarcastic in the least. when you work in Illustrator/Photoshop all day, the uselessness of the old open/save dialogs will exasperate you quick. I'm really glad they're fixed.

FWIW, I've never had any view option problems with my towers, but my Cube has always reverted to 28X28 px icons in icon view. It still does with 10.2.3 IF I select "This folder only." "Apply to all folders" works now.

Still does it to me in 10.2.3. I find that if I open a window, change the view settings, close the window immediately, and then open it again, the view settings will stick.

Yeah so what, the cursor still defaults to the "Go To" text entry field. So you have to hit "Tab" before u can even type a letter to jump to a file/folder. <grumble>

The retension of view settings is not an OS problem per se but rather a permissive issue. Try running permission repair.

When I try to enter something in the Go To field I just get the alert sound, and I know I'm entering a file that exists.

I don't agree with this and raise my point of contention. In relation to the "search results" view options, as per my previous post; it is obvious to me that, since logging as root, the OS will not even allow the settings to stick in this instance. I therefore feel that permissions have little if not any influence on the issue at hand.

Sorry to disagree

This statement is the OSX equivalent of an urban legend. It has been repeated so often and with such conviction, that many people now accept it as truth despite significant evidence that the Finder forgets window settings on folders which already have the correct permission settings.

A more accurate statement would be... "The retension of view settings is _sometimes_ not an OS problem per se but rather a permissions issue. Try running permission repair which will fix the retention of _some_ Finder window settings."

mine seem to stick for a while, then later, almost at random, a window here and a window there forgets it's settings... especially the color.
