Hi all.
May sound dumb, but does anyone know if a iBook is able to run OSX 10.2 server?
I'm wondering this as ibooks are the easiest things to grab over the holiday period to do server testing/development work on. where a tower is a pain in the butt to store and stuff.

IT should run perfectly well, hoewever I don't know why anyone would want OS X Server on his/her machine.
I once though of doing the same thing, but after using OS X Server, on a Server I came to the conclusion I gained nothing.

New TiBook requires at least 10.2.1 to boot. New hardware == new software. You can install on a seperate volume by going to Install CD/System/Installation/Packages/OsInstall.mkpg. Before reboot apply 10.2.3 server combo update.

Things are looking up
The reason I'm installing OSX Server on a iBook is for testing of the open directory/workgroup manager/netinfo/netinsall stuff. It's easier to get hold iBooks from the school that i'm doing the work for and it's easier to store them in the limited ammounts of space I have at my place.

Plus iBooks make a little less noise than an XServe.

I used to. Everything worked fine, speed is the same, etc. I just have had some compiler issues, so I switched back to the ‘normal' 10.2. Does the trick as well.

I have 10.2.3 Server on my iBook 600 as we speak, for testing purposes. Integration with Novell eDirectory is one of the major issues, unfortunately... hence the tower here running Novell 6. Ugh. Terrible.
