Well, so far OSX is great, more stable, more intuitive, though still very Mac - i.e. with every new OS (and I've been in since 6) it works fine at first, then there's a period a while after you upgrade when you have to spend 2 weeks with it nursing it back to health. And you get there. And I can live with that. But there are 2 things I still need in OSX:

1. Web Buddy
A program for downloading and saving web pages on your comp., with an interface for organising them, and with an easy, one click, means of saving. I got Pagesucker but it sucks; there was a very good program for this in Web Buddy but not under the new regime. If anybody knows of one... (or can write it?)

2. Maglobe
This is a very good setup - download their software and you get numbers + ISPs anywhere in the world pretty much. So you go on hols/work, take your laptop, plug into the phone line and they connect you. Then you do your POP3 etc. Maglobe is excellent, but they just can't be arsed to get out an OSX version - in fact they're still talking about OS8, and show no sign of updating.

So that's what I want from Santa this Xmas.

Happy Xmas y'all

Can't help you with #2, but you could try SimpleWget for #1. It's a cocoa interface for the wget command line app. Doesn't really have an interface for organizing sites, tho'...

iCab allows you to save pages as text, HTML, or a web archive (i.e. includes all the graphic images). You can also use it to download the entire website, if you like (i.e. all links on the same server, including image files).
