I don't know if this counts as OSX or Peripherals but I thought I'd post the email I got today from the manufacturers of Pivot software for displays that rotate to a "portrait" position, Portrait Displays. I have this software for my Samsung syncmaster 191t but I believe it also ships with others.

"PivotŪ software does NOT support OS X in either native mode or in the
Classic environment. Mac users should not install PivotŪ if they plan to
make the transition to OS X. Portrait has been faithful to the Mac loyalists
over the years. However, the direction that Apple has taken regarding its
display solutions has greatly reduced the need for third party pivoting
monitors. Based on the radically different architecture of OS X over
previous versions, Portrait Displays has no plans to release a compatible
version."

I didn't really plan on using portrait mode anyway but it would have been interesting.

What do they mean by that? Apple are making displays wide - not tall.

It's a shame. I used to have a Pivot (Radius PrecisionColor, in my case). I don't think it ever worked right after System... what was it, 7.1.3 which broke the software for good?

Pivots rocked. I'm not sure where they get the idea that Apple's display strategy is going to obviate the need for Pivot monitors; as JLL pointed out, they're wide, not tall. Or maybe this is just an excuse to not develop the software any further; I don't know.
