I have a G4 AGP with everything stock. After the update, bootup gets stuck on gray screen with Apple logo. I have:

-repaired disk/permissions
-updated firmware
-tried to reinstall 10.2 from the CD but doesn't let me

I can boot into 9 and 10.2 on an external firewire drive. Is there anyway I can just wipe X out clean and start from scratch?

Try zapping your PRAM?

Apple + Option + P + R

Boot in verbose mode (cmd-V) during startup and see what's happening...

Do you have an Apple LCD studio dispaly, and installed the software CD comes with the Studio display? If you have done so, that could be the problem...
