Hi,
I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder (DMR-E30S) and have recorded a home video onto a DVD-R and finalized the disc. The disc plays perfectly in other DVD players and on my Windows XP machine. But when I try to play the DVD on my PowerMac running 10.2.3 it is a no go. I get a message saying "not permitted" when I try to play the disc. The interesting thing though is no Video_TS folder is present on the disc when I try to browse it. Obviously this is the cause of the problem, since this is the file where all the video data is. I want to make a copy of the DVD too in my Mac, but can't do that if I can't find the Video_TS folder. Does anyone know why this happens or even an idea for a work around? Thanks so much!

Now thats a interesting problem.
Q1: Does the disc mounts on the desktop?
Q2: if Q1 = yes then what do you get on the Info window? How much is used? How much capacity?
Q3: try once VLC (videolan) as the DVD player
good luck

The gist of it is that it may either be a bug in Jaguar or a bug in the DVD recorder (with me leaning toward the bug in Jaguar interpretation), but there isn't anything that can be done about it right now (aside from using VideoLAN to play the disc).

Hi,
I also have a Panasonic DVD Recorder (DMR-E30S) and have recorded a home video onto a DVD-R and finalized the disc. The disc plays actually perfectly well on my iBook DVD player but not on my Powerbook with OSX Jaguar.
So, to me it looks like an OSX bug.
