I'm not a big fan of the bump, but someone else has to be having this problem. I can't mount anything, disk images, CDs, my iPod. I can see them in Disk Utility, but when I use the mount command nothing happens.

I'm having the same problem too, what's going on? I can mount a few music CD's and then everything else doesn't work. -_-

I can't see my external firewire anymore, even in 9. I hope Apple does something about this

Check to see if your Finder Preferences (ie. Show these items on the Desktop - Hard Disks, Removable Media etc.) got changed when you updated your system. I read it somewhere that this can happen on occasion.

Also I found this on macfixit.com today:

Combo update solves problems: Simply downloading Apple's standalone Mac OS X 10.2.3 combo updater (which can take any version of Mac OS X 10.2.x to Mac OS X 10.2.3) and applying it over your current Mac OS X 10.2.3 installation can resolve a number of problems - including disabling of internal CD-RW/DVD drives - without necessitating a re-install from the Mac OS X 10.2 CD.

Jan Peelaerts writes:

"I too had problems with a disabled internal CD-RW after upgrading to OS X 10.2.3 on my Blue and White G3. What I did was simply download the OS X 10.2.3 combo updater and run it over the existing 10.2.3. After that all my problems were solved."

Hope this helps

I can't mount my firewire HD on my iMac anymore. It mounts fine on my powerbook, both running 10.2.3. Can't mount the powerbook on the iMac in target mode over firewire either. Firewire appears to be dead on my iMac and this really sucks.
I did a search and also asked on the iMac forum and this is the only thing I have found on the subject. What is going on out there?
