Hi,

I found a working solution for the disabled internal cd-rw drive on my iMac Dalmation 600 Mhz after upgrading to OSX 10.2.3.

The solution is as simple as obvious.
I ran a clean install with the original OSX 10.2 installer CD including options as 'Save previous system' and 'save users and network info'.

After restarting I used the auto update option to install all the earlier security-, Stuffit Expander-, Explorer etc. updates EXCEPT FOR THE LATEST OSX 10.2.3 UPDATE. (I think this is important)
Restarted again and used Disk Aid to restore privileges etc. (Perhaps not necessary but it seems the right thing to do..)

Then I run with auto update the OSX 10.2.3 combo update.

And everything seems to work great again. Inserted cd's do mount, Toast and iTunes recognize the drive and yes I can burn cd's again.

Live is beautiful again :-)

Hope this will help others as well.

Greetings from wet Holland
