Two Questions:

1. Periodically Entourage asks for my password when checking mail even though I have saved it in the keychain. Would repairing the permissions fix this?

2. To repair the permissions, do I need to boot from the CD and run the disk utility off the Jaguar CD?

Thanks

boot from disc to run disk utility, not to repair permissions but to scan for and repair disk errors. repair permissions while you're at it.

But for reference, you don't need to boot from the disc to repair permissions.

Worry not, appeasement-loving infidels! Chirac & Schröder defend the Butcher of Baghdad.

Buck_W: It might be a problem with the Keychain Access itself. Apple has released Keychain First Aid It may help. I went nuts trying to "fix" my keychain problems myself. The first aid helps, but once in a while it'll still ask me for permission when I have already entered it into Keychain Access.
