I have multiple Icons of a couple of the icons in the system preferences. Any idea on how to get rid of them?

Try trashing your com.apple.systempreferences.plist in ~/Library/Preferences ...

look and see if you have copies of the offending panes in both library/preferencepanes and home/library/preferencepanes - if so get rid of one of them.

if there are no duplicates, try trashing the prefpane cache file (it's home/library/caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache)

Trashing them don't make a difference on my iMac, I have the same: several Accounts-icons and the Internet-icon is gone...

Sorry, I made a (late-evening) mistake.
Thanks, it did the trick!
