Another question about running an app in classic. Lost the ability to scroll with a scroll wheel in a classic application, is there away to get it back? Specifically Microsoft Office apps.

thanks

I have tried in vain to get my scroll wheel to operate in Classic. I think that it can not happen since in Classic the extension for the scroll wheel to operate is no longer active and that OSX takes over thus allowing one to scroll OSX windows but not Classic windows. Bascially Classic is an emulation of OS9 and there is no driver bulit into the emulation program.

If you find a work around, please feel free to email me.

Classic is not emulation. Emulation implies hardware emulation, which is of course not necessary. Classic is more like a virtual machine.

I don't think it is possible to get your scroll wheel back in Classic for the reasons described.

May I ask why you're using Office in Classic mode?

I can not answer for him, but I use Office in Classic mode because I found better things to spend my money for than an Office update.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

I hear you there, Developer.

I'm sure I wouldn't pay for Office either if I wasn't a student at a university where I can obtain a copy for $5

The cheapest I could get Office is for $200, that is still too much at this time. Christmas was expensive.

Hear, hear. I bought a bunch of software for my Mac, including GoLive, and wish that the current $199 deal was available back then. I ended up getting AppleWorks which sucked so bad I got Office anyway. (Which I like a great deal, although I primarily just use word and then a little Excel)

Unfortunately Ijust now got the "rebate" info back in the mail. Apparently they claimed I put the wrong bar code tag the first time. They didn't tell me this until October though but said I could send the proper bar code. (Fortunately I'd kept the box) Now that came back saying that the PO Box has been discontinued. This is about $500 in rebates I should have!
