I seem to have NetBoot set up right on my server, but booting a client with "N" fails to work... and in Startup Disk I don't see anything specific, just a generic look for Network Disk.
My guess is that it has something to do with using a hardware router for my primary DHCP server. However, its supposed to work this way... and others have said it works for them. Any special settings needed on the router?
Any suggestions on what might be wrong???
I have installed two OS X NetBoot images and enabled them, both following the directions to the letter: one via the Network Image Utility and one via Disk Copy and the associated directions in Mac Help. Both are enabled in Server Settings and one is set as default. The directory they are in is being shared, along with my Users and Applications (which both show up on the client computer when it boots the normal way... so I know sharing is working fine).
Server Status shows that DHCP is running.
When booting with N key held down, it initially comes up with a blinking globe icon (I assume indicating it is looking for a NetBoot server). After a couple minutes it gives up and boots from disk.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
