I am having a lot of trouble with os x server, I want to password protect a website, I created a realm, added the user I wanted to give access to, however I do not get a username/password box when trying to access it, just a "forbidden You don't have permission to access" message. also webdav dosent work, I have enabled it per the admin guide, however my usernames and passwords are not accepted, I get error 43 when trying to access it. could this grayed out button be the problem?

I am getting frustrated here I wan this to be as easy as iis!

that picture you posted ... it is the workgroup manager ... if I recall correctly, it has nothing to do with the web server, as a matter of fact that app. is useful for netboot and such (for what I have used it anyway).

try what you want with machine or network user for that particular OS X Server machine (ie. the admin, you, etc).
