I want to use Canon's Imagebrowser as my default photo downloading program, but every time I plug in my camera iPhoto automatically opens. How can I change that so Imagebrowser opens instead of iPhoto? Thanks for any input.

I would try deleting iPhoto's preference file. Then the next time you plug in your camera, it should say "Do you want to launch iPhoto automatically when you attach a camera" or something like that. Just tell it no. Maybe that'll help.

Go into the Image Capture prefs and pick the app you want from the menu.

Image Capture prefs? I'm sorry I don't understand what program you are talking about. If you mean Canon's Imagebrowser, there is no app menu in the prefs that I can see...

pobodysnerfect is right. Go to your Applications folder and open up a program called Image Capture. Once you have the program running, select Preferences from the Image Capture menu in the menu bar. You'll see a menu where you can change what happens when you plug in the camera. Here's a pic I took so you can see what it looks like.
