I think I'm just dense and can't see it, but how do you set a user profile in iChat.

Its in the address book. I think its called additional comments or something similar.

No, that's not true. This was brought up before. iChat doesn't have user profiles yet. Sorry.

iChat is such a nice app to use, but lack of key features as well as some sore points like this makes more eye-candy and less practical.

Oh well, I shall wait to see if it ever gets a major update.
