Is there a way, like in iTunes, where you can specify the location of your picture folder on another local disk or will this not be possible till a future version of iPhoto? I have an external 40GB drive that I want to use for all my extra stuff like music and digital photos. I'm running low on space on my poor old 10GB in my TiBook.

i think you just create the new library folder on the other drive then create an alias to place in the original iphoto folder
i cant remember the specifics but i know its listed in the help section of iPhoto

I had a similar problem. For some reason, iPhoto lost track of where its main library was.
Thanks to the link above, I went to iPhotoLibraryManager, downloaded it and I was ale to fix it all.
Thank you!
P.S. This REALLY is something that should be part of the app!!! But then again, who am I to complain about something that is free to begin with...

You're right, also. I just checked Help and it voila!
The iPhoto Library folder, located in your Pictures folder, contains photos you have imported into your photo library and any albums you've created using iPhoto. If you want to move your iPhoto Library folder to a new location, you must create an alias for it in your Pictures folder.
IMPORTANT: If you move, delete, rename, or otherwise tamper with files or folders in the iPhoto Library folder, you may be unable to see your pictures in iPhoto.
To move the iPhoto Library folder to a new location:
1.Drag the folder to the new location
2. Select the folder in the new location and choose Make Alias from the File menu.
3. Drag the iPhoto Library folder alias to the Pictures folder and name it iPhoto Library.
I like the iPhotoLibraryManager a lot better though. Hopefully the next update to iPhoto will include a option to change this from within the app itself.
