Hello--

I recently installed max os x 10.2 on my ibook. Then I used Software Update and it told me that there were newer versions of quicktime (i believe 6.0.2), i tunes 3.01, IE 5.22. and of course 10.2.3.

10.2.3 was big, so I downloaded that one first. And it worked. But then when I ran the Software update again, it said that everything was up to date.

so I manually found the updates to IE and Itunes and downloaded them after first checking that they weren't updating in any way by by 10.2.3 download.

then I went to quicktime and hit update, and it said it was up to date. But it is only versions 6.0.1 and at work they have 6.0.2. But I can't find 6.0.2 on apple.

Could someone please help me figure out why Software Update and Quicktime don't show that there are more updates? Is that a new bug?

Or is it just a matter of indexing my harddrive?

where can I find the newest version of Quicktime or reset my Quicktime update so it works?

any help would be great.

Thank You.

-Matt

Just go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ and download the installer from there. I did that about 2 weeks ago and it was 6.0.2. Also, be sure and use System Prefs-->Quicktime-->Update and check the radial button next to 3rd Party Software and click update. That might help as well.

Thanks, I was going to try that, but it makes me concerned why Quicktime Update won't pick that up.

The same thing used to happen to me using 9.1... software update never seemed to notice that there were new updates.

But this new one was working, but now with the new mac os 10.2.3 didnt' seem to work.

Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks.
