I am using a Titanium G4 running OS 10.2.3 and a D-Link bluetooth adaptor. The phone is a Sony Ericsson T68i and is on the Vodafone network in the UK.

Regardless of the T68i modem settings, on the G4, I can connect to our modems. The modem show connect at 57600 but the software on the Mac (Zterm v1.1beta7) tells me it's 9600. That's what I would expect.
I can send pictures ZModem but after around 100k or 2mins I get CRC errors.

This happens every time. If a file is smaller that 100k then I sometimes get a zReadData error at the end of file.

I have heard of people using bluetooth to send pictures but have not been able to contact anyone.
I am not sure if this is a network problem with Vodafone.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
I have learned something new from everyone I have met.

Do a search in the peripheral forum. This topic has popped up there before.

Your problem is most probably with the software you are using to connect. I also have Tibook and T68i with Vodafone. Last time I tryed it I connected with Virgin.net, using Ericsson Infrared as a modem option and didn't have any failures.

I'm not sure what kind of pictures you are talking about.. if you want to send pictures from your book to t68 then you need a bluetooth adapter for your TiBook (You can buy DLINK from apple website) and Ericsson Client (Can be found on versiontracker).

For some reason the Ericcson client won't work with my T68i. I've heard of many others having the same problem. iSync finds it fine yet the client keeps saying that it can't see the phone.

So this is a software problem of some kind.

After lots of test files my ericsson was still unreliable.
I changed phones to the Nokia 6310 and it never had a failure.
The Vodafone network only connects at 9600 UK - Orange will connect at 2800 using two channels I think.
The only difference with the Nokia was that in the network settings OSX 10.2.3 you have a 'coms' port option. On the Ericsson I was using the serial 1 or 2 ports (no coms option).
I have heard that Vodafone will introduce an ISDN mobile in February in the UK but cannot find any info on this.

an ISDN mobile - don't quite know where you heard that! You might be thinking of HSCD - which your 6310 can do.

if you want better connection speeds ask vodafone to subscribe you to GPRS (extra £5 per month.)

your 6310 can do GPRS and it's much faster.
You know it makes sense. ☼ ☼ ☼ Growl.

I will be happy with bluetooth when the headphones come out. Other than that I have no use for it. Keyboard maybe.
