...which I've had running for a long time now. I guess the installer is looking for it in the canonical location; I've moved it elsewhere.

Does anyone know where it's expected to be? I'm guessing /Applications/Palm/...

Well, moving it to /Applications/Palm fails, as does /Users/me/Applications.

Perhaps I have to install a fresh copy?

Okay!

Doing a clean install, which does go into /Applications, seems to do the trick.

Never mind :-)

right after I installed palm desktop I put it in the Utilities folder and I've never had a problem with it, but I don't think the iSync conduit has anything to do with palm desktop, you just have to hotsync the palm and hotsync manager opens automatically then iSync.
