The dock icon and my clock says it's the 3rd of January, (which is the correct date), but the 2nd of January is the one highlited in blue and selected in the ical window. Also now I only have the option of starting the day at 6:12pm so my scheduling's all stuffed up.
I've still got a copy of 1.0 on my HD, but it refuses to launch, should I delete some files (don't know which ones) and go back to that ?
Anyone else had a similar problem ?

Yep, my times are all fscked up. Apparently all of us in different timezones are not important enough to warrant complete testing. This is annoying - I can't update my calendar in this state.

Yup! This is a bug for anyone using the Adeliades, Canberra, Sydney Time Zone setting. If you chnage it to something else it works fine.
Reort it to Apple and theyll fix it sometime next year!

Unless their ical's are broken as well and they'll end up fixing it last week. ;-)

aargh I changed the time zone, and the times are back properly, but it's acting strange like when i drag one of the events a little bit.. it will change.. and then completely disappear... Also I can't use a network time clock that way..
Anyone have any idea what files I might need to delete to go back to get ical 1.0 to launch again and use that ? Entourage doesn't look as good.

This really worries me.
How did something like this get released? Does Apple do all there testing using a single time zone?
Didn't Apple US send a copy at least a few days before to Apple Australia to test (assuming they don't test outside their own timezone)?
I'm sure they are working on a fix, but it really does look bad for Apple to make such a huge blunder on a release.

I had iCal explode on me as well, i now have a completely useless calander setup. my day apparently starts at 2:12am!
also the lack of a tasmania timezone impresses me somewhat, i assume the boys and girls on the infinite loop don't realise that tasmania has different daylight saving start/stop dates to the rest of the country? (i use the melbourne timezone currently)

It's not just you Aussies- it appears that Hawaii got hosed, too. My day starts at 6:47 AM and ends at 9:47 PM in the preferences, but starts at 2:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM on the calendar day page, and while the day page says Fri. Jan 3, Fri, Jan 4 is highlighted in the month calendar. Definitely weird.

Yeah, and of course it gets to us in New Zealand.. I've got the 2:12am - 12:12pm day here. I guess I'll just keep not using the program like I had been with 1.0. It seems that some of the fixes: nice fast startup; at least the main window remembers position... will make it nice to use, when the time is sorted out!

it doesn't really surprise me, how useless is sherlock and the iphoto printing to australians? apple has a surprisingly monocultural view, perhaps they need a little whack?
its a terrible thing to say but i'm glad i'd read this forum thread before updating (which i was going to do tonight).
it would be nice to think it will get fixed but do they care enough about their user base in australia or out of the north american continent to fix it, its a bit cynical i know but...

In Adelaide TZ my day runs from 1:12 AM 6:12 PM.
The scale alongside the "week" view (the only one I use) still runs from 7 AM to 12 PM like it used to, though.
Also seeing weird bugs: Draw an event on one day and after I've edited it I see it jump "forward" an entire day; drag it back and it springs forward again; switch views then drag it; and note that it reverts to the "correct" position after a while.
Apple had better fix this soon.
And what happens in the mean time? Will all the new events I've made (which appear in the right position on the calendar, but which have weird times listed for them) stay in the wrong place once Apple releases a fix? (which is actually the right place in the spatial sense but the wrong place in the sense of the labelled time)
Grr.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Apple is tracking an issue that may cause users living in time zones 10 hours or more from Greenwich Mean Time to have their calendar data displayed incorrectly. If you are in one of these regions, including Australia (except Perth), New Zealand, Hawaii, Guam or far eastern Russia, we recommend that you do not download this version of iCal at this time. Please check back Monday, January 6th for more details.
I don't like that "We reccomend that you do not download this version"...
Does that mean that everybody who has will have a library with ruined dates?
Fingers crossed that no...

iCal works?
I just get "The application iCal has unexpectedly quit".
Of course this also happened with version 1.0
Reinstalling helped for a while. Unfortunately, my 1.01 download seems to have vanished.

My day is also 2.12pm > 2.12pm
my events randomly jump all over the place, anything before this week was deleted (seems the auto-delete to-do list, became to-do AND events).
Absolutely appaling. Really, you'd think they'd to timezone testing in an app that is 100% percent for the purpose of organising time!

Also - the iCal site says "10 hours or more from Greenwich Mean Time"
- Adelaide is +9.30.
(or is this where daylight savings come into reak more havoc upon our day?)

And after trying 1.0.2, my worst fears are confirmed....
The bug is fixed for *new* events that you create.
But anything that was in your calendars before is trashed... the times are still all stuffed up, the events have jumped to seemingly random locations in the calendar etc.
Thanks Apple!
