Has anyone else received this message has much as I do? Almost every one of my major programs and games unexpectedly quit on me giving that message as the excuse. Frankly I'm getting quite pissed, it happens at least every other day with various programs including adobe illustrator, photoshop, civlizatiion 2, internet explorer, direct connect...Its always random too, so I got to save my work on whatever I'm working on every 5 min just in case theh program dies on me in the middle of something important.
Is this normal?!?!?! I thougth mac os X was supposed to be super stable, but is this the programs or the os or both?!

It's not normal.
What have you done to try and pin down the cause?
Have you put memory in recently?
When was the last time you checked the disk for errors?

Thats not normal, I run office and ie, both are stable. Perhaps its a hardware problem. faulty memory/cpu/motherboard all can cause this type of problem.

Well I have a tibook superdrive, and i just recently had an additional 512 mb of ram included. However I had this problem even before the memory was added.
How do I check for disk errors? I'm a recent switcher so I don't know all the ins and outs.

I have a new 867 and I as well have many more "unexpectedly quit" messages since I started using 10.2. My primary issues have been with Mozilla. I have tried numerous different versions, tried reseating my memory, run the hardware diagnostic and everthing comes up clean. Also, there is a disc first aid program under applications/utilities. If you are having all the apps crap out, check the rights...

This is not normal.
Try Applications->Disk Utility->Repair Permissions.
Try Disk First Aid from your OS X install CD (boot from this one).
Try DiskWarrior (have to buy this).
Back-up first always is good advice.
Re-install everything (after back-up personal stuff) after formatting your disk)
Bring in your Mac for consult.
Good luck!
