I have a peee ceeee formatted dvd-r disc with the UDF file system. I am trying to read it in my iBook DVD-ROM drive under OS X. However when I attempt to browse the DVD-R it shows no files.

Any clues, thanks in advance.

Read this thread.

The easiest solution is to boot to OS 9, and then copy the files over.

Or else log in as root, copy the files over, and change the directory permissions.

Oh and, please submit your bug to Apple feedback.

From the command line if I do a "sudo ls /Volumes/Volname" it works and I can see all the files. I can then copy the files to my hard disk, which isn't what I want to do, but at least I can can access the files. If I do a "ls -l" these are the permissions for the dvd-r disk.

dr--r--r-- 3 unknown nogroup
drwxrwxrwt 3 root wheel
dr--r--r-- 2 unknown nogroup

Is there anything I can do when I burn a DVD-R on a PC to make sure the permissions will be correct?

thanks in advance,

Scott
