i have an old ibook (x10.2) and an g4/400 (x10.2.3), both with airport cards. the g4 shares the dsl connection as a software basestation. everything works fine, except that the ibook can’t connect to some servers. for example, i can go through ebay, but when i open the details of an auction, it takes forever to show the pictures. html is there, but the browser (chimera) keeps connecting to ipixmedia for the pics. same with the ebay counter url. some servers won’t connect at all. maybe after 2 minutes something happens, maybe not.
on the hostmachine (the g4) everything works fine, so its not the dsl connection.
it may be the firewall, but its not aktivated on both machines. any ideas??

turn off the firewall (on whatever machine it is located on) and see if that resolves your problems.

also try another browser.

On the machine that is NOT the basestation:

Code:
sudo ifconfig en1 mtu 1450
(Where en1 is the Airport interface listed in the output of "ifconfig -a"... this might be different on your machine.
