I have a PowerMac G4 running OS X Server 10.2.3 and a PowerBook Titanium running Mac OS X 10.2.3.
I would like to buy an airport card (NOT an airport base station) for my PowerMac which is connected to a cable modem, and share the internet connection with my PowerBook via airport.
If my PowerMac was running Mac OS X instead of Mac OS X Server, it would be REALLY simple: I should just turn on the Internet Sharing service under System Preferences -> Sharing -> Internet.
But I was really surprised when I found out that OS X Server doesn't have this option (I cannot find it in the Sharing panel of the System Preferences).
Can anyone tell me if the Internet Sharing option is hidden elsewhere in Mac OS X Server (10.2.x) ?

Yes you need to log in to your Server with the Server Admin app, it lets you set all the settings for your server, from the server or any other OS X machine.

I already asked this question in August last year (when Server 10.2 was released) and someone told me that Apple thinks this option to be unsafe. That's why they do not enable it on Server 10.2. But have a look for IPNetShareX on versiontracker.com - it should work under 10.2, too. With that tool you should be able to enable InterNetSharing. Or look for Brickhouse - it does the same.

sorry l008com, but logging in as admin or root doesn't change anything: I still canNOT access the Internet Sharing option as in Mac OS X Client (SystemPreferences->Sharing)
lars-man, thanks for the info!
but I still don't like the fact that a built-in and easy-configurable option of OS X client has disappeared in OS X Server!

I use OS X Server 10.1, and i used to use BrickHouse to share internet, and that worked fine. Then I reinstalled and found this other program called GeeRoute i think, im not totally sure how it works since there is no way to configure it at all, but i set up both of my etherent interfaces in system prefs then installed this and i got an instant router. I don't think i have any way to map ports but i don't need any maped ports anyway.
