Hey, I have a load of VIDEO_TS files on my comp, and its beginning to fill up my comp. Is there any utilities that can change those files to something like a DivX file or MPEG?

Thanks

If your files are unprotected, you can try using ffmpegX (find it on versiontracker). It's a graphical front-end to the unix executable ffmpeg, and it allows you to do all kinds of video and audio conversions.
If you need more help, try these forums on 3ivx.com. They're full of step by step instructions.
Good luck !

I usually convert DVDs to XVCDs. With a variable bit rate you can fit about 90 minutes on a CD, and if it's converted directly from DVD, the quality is excellent. If you have a PC, TMPGenc will convert it to mpg. Sorry I can't tell you how to do it on a Mac, but this is one thing that's actually easier on a PC (and the only reason I keep one around).

What you want to do is fairly straigthtforward.

ffmpeg makes it pretty easy. Go get it here , its free.

Also, if you need to remove regional coding and such, look here

I have O Brother where art Thou on one CD. Running time 103 minutes. DivX.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.
