I would consider myself an advanced novice cli user on osx. Should I install and start to learn bash so I can communicate with the linux weenies out there?

What's your preferred shell?

on my machine, bash is already installed (since Jaguar).

Type "bash" in Terminal, and it should load.

what do you know. I thought I read that they removed it because of licensing reasons.

I use zsh... It has some nice completion options.
