One thing I think iSync should have is the ability to sync eMail with my palm, T68i, and possibly my iPod. Wouldn't that be nice?

I'd like to see the ability to sync between accounts on the same Mac. We have this elegant system for synching between coomputers and all sorts of devices, but no way to share contacts or calendars between accounts.
I'm not sure if this would be an iSync feature or an Address Book/iCal feature, but I'd like to be able to set certain groups of contacts to share with my wife and some home calendars that we can share and BOTH edit.

Hmm, all my 70.000 emails on my iPod.. uhm, NO :-)
Wouldn't be that good of an idea. But let's say that i could take the emails of a specific mailbox with me - sure, why not?

wtf do you need 70000 emails archived for?
On topic though, email sync would be an awesome feature that I would love. I have a few folders of stuff, I'd love to carry with me.

Could you possibly post your calendar using .Mac and then have the other users subscribe to that calendar? And with possible address book syncing as of MWSF, the same should be possible with the address book, assuming they're on the same .mac account.

Subscribing is read only, so it doesn't allow true sharing of calendars, just viewing by the subscriber. Only the publisher can make changes.
I think my address book ideas should be pretty easy since AB uses LDAP, but I'm not sure.

I got a calender sharing thing working by making symlinks of the calender (In the ~/Library/Calenders/ folder) dropping it in who ever needed the calender and then putting a lock on the calender (Right-Click, then Get Info, then select locked) iCal has an annoying way of just killing unlocked normal symlinks.

There are a lot of things for improvement in iSync. How about syncing of all the address fields from the palm or more configure options, how to sync?
There are other things....

I'll plead ignorance up front on the differences between mac os aliases and unix symlinks. Can you give me a run down? Does it only work with symlinks or do aliases work as well?
thanks,
