Hi.
I had to re install my system because of mounting errors I was having.

So i put my new system on a 2nd HD that I have. Everything seems to be working properly, I can mount CD's and images now.

However, my iChat menu icon (the one that looks like a text bubble in the upper right hand corner of the screen, near the clock) does not seem linked to my iChat program.

If i use it to sign on, it sounds like its signing on and i get buddies listed in the drop down menu, but! the iChat application is not open! as there is no black arrow under the icon in the dock.

when i use the menu icon to pull up the buddy list, i get a beeping error.

The only way i can actually see and use my iChat is to open the program with the dock icon. Then, the menu icon doesnt even register that iChat is running.

Any suggestions?
Thanks
