No. 3.0.1 is the iLife version, and it's the version installed while ago.

I think this thread is corrupted. The thread author and first poster are not the same.

MacNN forums have been acting up all day with all the MWSF message flooding...you're right, this does look like thread corruption.

I know what he means. He means iTunes 3.01 is showing up in software update after the keynote. Even though most of us downloaded iTunes 3.01 a long time ago.
It happens to me.
I even installed it again through SW update hoping it would go away, but it is still there. Like I never updated. I am not going to "update" my iTunes 3.01 to iTunes 3.01 again. Is there no way to tell SW update to shove this update where the sun don't shine??

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Yes there is. Click on the offending update, goto the Update menu and select Make Inactive.

I've been playing around with iTunes 3.0 and I must admit that I'm a little irritated that my main complaints didn't get addressed. You can't right click in the playlist area to either delete a playlist or create an empty one. Yet in the song area you *can* right click. (Which seems a little inconsistent to me)
However I must say that the dynamic playlists are AWESOME. One of those things I hadn't thought of but which now I have I don't think I could live without. It's great for making odd playlists. For instance I have a playlist with Roy Orbison, Elvis, and Chris Isaac songs. When I add a new song to iTunes by one of them it automatically gets added to the playlist.
The other thing I love is how the volume of all songs are equalized to the same level. Great since every song seems to be mastered at a different overall volume level. No more messing with volume and so forth. (This option is in Preferences for those who missed it)

Yeah...ol' Steve promised us Rendezvous iTunes in 4 -6 months at the last Expo (well the one before the one yesterday). But during this expo he was extremely quiet about it.
He said something like "iTunes 3 has hidden features that will surface now when used in conjunction with the updated iApps"...ok, sure...but what about Rendezvous?
It does seem like Apple is rewritting most of their apps in Cocoa. iMovie 3 is an example. Could they be doing the same for iTunes? I can't really see the benefits but oh well.
The Cocoa list is growing...the only remaining important apps that are still Carbon are:
Finder
iTunes 3
QuickTime Player
DVD Player
None of these would really benefit from being Cocoa but a rewrite is always a good thing as iMovie 3 demonstrates and writing apps from the ground up is definitely good as Keynote shows.

Yes. He did. 6-9 months. Go back and listen to the keynote again if you need to:
00:32:10 to 00:32:20 in the keynote.

It's fun to manufacture stuff in my head...it makes others go out and find the factual info for me so I don't have to. Thanks piracy!
BTW, if you want to find me other info, you're welcome.
