It's in the prefpane directory, but for some reason it won't display. I noticed this after I got Safari, because i wanted to make it my default browser. Any ideas why it's in the library but not displaying in the system prefs? I rebooted.

This is a cache problem that sometimes occurs in the System Prefs... Mine did this, also at one point it reproduced the internet pref pane so I had 3 in the window at the same time. Somewhere in your Prefs folder is a pref that contains something like prefs.cache (I'm sure this is not exactly right, but I don't remember what it is). Once you find this file delete it, the pref pane will show back up next time you open the sys prefs...
