Do you guys think Apple will offer an Express version of DVD Studio Pro like they did with Final Cut Pro? And what about iDVD, do you think Apple will ever let it support external DVD burners?

I'd say there's a possibility of a DVD software express version but not until DVD Studio gets moi moi bigger and more featured. Look at FCP they're onto version 3... prolly 4 soon, DVD Studio's on what? 1.5?
Give em a bita time, I'd say two years MWSF possibly.
