What is the purpose of the "Summary Service" in OS X? It seems that when one highlights a selection of text in a service-capable app that a new app (Summary Service) launches and can somehow reduce the amount of words or wordiness in the text selection. How in the world is this called a summary when it just deletes sentences? What is the purpose and does anyone use it?

It attempts to summarize text by just picking out the important bits of a piece of text. I've never really used it, but if I used a cocoa -based mail client I probably would. I think it was Mark Twain who said, "I wanted to make this letter shorter, but I didn't have time."
