Jason Kottke from Kottke.org originally had this idea, but his mockups didn't really do it for me. Until this one great example came up.

I was recently searching for new channels for Sherlock 3 and found one for Google. It's actually pretty cool in that you can customize the Google search without having to go to another page, you can search Groups (Deja) or News without going to another page. It's available at http://www.sherlockers.com/channels....=searchengines. Wouldn't it be too cool if Apple could integrate this functionality so typing something in the Google bar brought up the Google channel from Sherlock, but integrated right into the browser window?

Instead of petitioning for tabbed windows, I think this could be true innovation for browsing!

Anyway, it's late and I should be sleeping but I wanted to get people's thoughts on this.

I would rather be able to specify options for the search (such as country, language etc) in a similar way that you can by visiting the various country specific sites.

Until Apple can improve the international support in Sherlock, at the moment it is very US centric, I wouldn't want to see any intergration between Safari and Sherlock.

I want Services to use Sherlock dammit.

I want a 'Define in Sherlock's Dictionary' Service (like Omni's 'Define in OmniDictionary')

I want a 'Translate in Sherlock's Translation' Service.

And maybe others too...but I'm mostly interested in those two.

"That doesn't matter. He believes in you."

-"I'm not agnostic. Just nonpartisan. Theological Switzerland, that's me."
